XCLUSIVE: What’s going on Dj Chill Will. Before we get started tell our readers a little bit about yourself.
CHILL WILL: I’m from a town called Valdosta, GA. In 2010, I started djing shortly followed by hosting singles and mixtapes in 2011. My early passion was seeing my uncle dedicate himself to djing every weekend in and out of town, and for the likes of watching Influencers such as BiggaRankin, DJ Don Cannon,
tDJ Scream and DJ Tephlon.
It seems as though Dj’s have it extremely easy in the booth. Do you face challenges?
Yes, I face different life challenges everyday. It’s not as easy as it looks.
What do you usually start with when preparing for a set?
I usually start my set off with what I called #The Chill Vibe; Playing old Hip Hop and R&B.
There’s so much music out there, is it even possible to build meaningful long-term relationships with a particular track or album?
You have to know your crowd, the right song to play and when to play it, so yes relationships are very important.
What makes you decide on a particular record?
It’s all on how the crowd is moving, but any time after 12 am it’s time to turn up!
